Activities available locally include: walking, sailing, fishing, wind-surfing, golf, tennis, mountain biking, cycling, horse riding, water skiing, paragliding, scuba diving and swimming. There is also a popular Sunday market.
The island also boasts 9 golf courses, 6 of which are within easy access of Los Cristianos.
Several local companies organise day trips to the main tourist attractions on the island. These tourist attractions include: El Tiede, the volcanic mountain which dominates the island (and whose foothills feature in the Star Wars films), Loro Parque with its spectacular orca and dolphin displays, and the majestic cliffs of Los Gigantes from which boat trips can be taken to see whales and dolphins in their natural surroundings.
Other excursions available are: a medieval show incorporating sensational horsemanship at the Castillo San Miguel, helicopter or light aircraft sight-seeing trips over part or all of the island according to your choice, Aqualand Water Park (Las Americas), the Jungle Park, just outside Los Cristianos, where a demonstration of the eagles flying free takes place twice a day, the Exotic Park (Cactus & Animal Park) incorporating a Reptilarium and Amazonia–Jurassic Land, and a Monkey Park.
Using the coastal promenade it is also possible to stroll from Los Cristianos to Playa Las Americas and beyond.
